No Surrender to fear: embrace Courage

georgewashingtoncarver158551
Those who insist on pretending we only can choose between Democrats and Republicans must learn how to think outside the corporate box. We have 36 years of evidence that perpetual and unending war is not the answer. And sitting on the couch hoping for change or only focusing on local issues are not solutions.

We must keep our eyes on the prize of freedom and vote values instead of fears.  We can secure the peace and demand justice. Too much hangs in the balance to straddle the fence, vote for “lesser evils” or surrender.

Hillary Clinton  and Bernie Sanders are fatally-flawed pro-war candidates.

Hillary supports the odd notion that Israel is somehow entitled to break the law, build illegal settlements, hide nuclear bombs from international inspections and attack virtually defenseless occupied and surrounded people. Israel has an Army, Navy and an Air Force. These  resources are backed up with un-inspected nuclear weapons. Israeli “Defense” Force attacks on Gaza and the West Bank are offense not defense: this criminal enterprise must end.

Aside from Hillary’a blinders on the Middle East, she endorses multiple wars of choice and spouts Netanyahu’s delusional aspirations about attacking Iran (and flirting with World War III) instead of dealing with facts on the ground. She is trigger-happy, unstable, dangerous and has been wrong too many times. She has committed international crimes by her machinations with Libya and Syria. She should not hold public office.

hillsty“Given the US record of the past dozen years, there is a great deal to be said in principle for a long period in which Washington simply pulls back from involvement in international crises. In practice, though, as several administrations have found, international affairs will not leave a US president alone. Crises blow up suddenly, and to craft an appropriate response requires a consistent philosophy, deep local knowledge, a firm grip on the US foreign-policy apparatus, and the ability to frame that response in ways that will gain the necessary support from the policy establishment, media and population. These are sufficiently great challenges in themselves. To expect in addition that a statesman will display originality, moral courage and a willingness to challenge national shibboleths is probably too much to ask of anyone. On the evidence to date, this is certainly too much to ask of Hillary Rodham Clinton.”

About Hillary

“What Hillary Clinton did to Libya is a crime on a scale rivaled only by the crimes of the Bush administration in Iraq – and there is a definite parallel in the methodology of the criminals.”

Bernie Sanders is an older and conservative politician dedicated to the military status quo. His populist rhetoric about ecnomics is compelling, but the congressional record provides glaring examples which prove he remains a “hawk” on Israel, the F-35, drones and specific wars of choice. These stances mock his supporters and explain why he is not running against Hillary, but for her.  He told us he plans to vote for Hillary and by doing so endorse the ongoing Democratic apparatus of destabilization, invasion, attacks and avoidable wars of aggression against smaller and less powerful nations.

Sanders seems ambivalent about how black lives do not matter in America.
(Bernie Sanders’} foreign policy positions are to the right of many liberal Democrats. Sanders voted in favor of George W. Bush’s original Authorization for Use of Military Force resolution that gave the administration a green light to launch the war on Afghanistan. While he did vote against Bush’s invasion of Iraq, he repeatedly supported funding resolutions for both US occupations. And while critical of some aspects of Israeli policy, Sanders has a less than stellar record on Palestine, even going as far as defending Israel’s right to “self-defense” during its bloody assault on the Gaza Strip last summer.”

This alone should disqualify him as a presidential contender. The lesser-evil theory has been completely and overwhelming debunked.  We must forget voting for evil and work for the greater good.

“Sanders’ backing of US imperialism compromises his support for workers’ rights.”

Bernie-SandersSanders not only defends military contracts that benefit his constituents in Vermont, he also joined the 100 to 0 vote in the Senate to give unalloyed moral and political support to the state of Israel during its most recent bombing campaign against Gaza.”

Bernie Sanders supports the right-wing war lobby…

We can do much better than three right-leaning, conservative pretenders who ignore human rights, freedom and attending to the real victory: peace in our time. Instead, all three want to continue flogging the dead horse of endless conflicts with munitions cartels in charge of our military and our nation driven by wars of choice.

JillStein

Only one candidate has identified what is destroying the health of this nation and wasting vital resouces. We spend trillions killing millions instead of investing in people and the places where we live.
If we shut down unnecessary wars of choice, we can redirect national, corporate and human resources in reversing environmental degradation, repairing infrastructure and investing in peace.

Dr. Jill Stein provides the only sane choice.

Stein will begin a radical transition from exporting destabilization, munitions, terror and war to the more sustainable export of human services, technnological resources, courage and peace.

This doctor has an established plan and singular purpose. We must shut down the corporate war-machine and insist on investment in peace, research, infratructure, equity and progress.

Dr. Jill Stein has been endorsed as the single best person to be our next President by Noam Chomsky, a linguist, author and activist, and by Chris Hedges, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and war correspondent, among others. She is as real as it gets.

Jill was born in Chicago and raised in suburban Highland Park, Illinois. She graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College in 1973, and from Harvard Medical School in 1979.

Dr. Jill Stein is a mother, physician, longtime teacher of internal medicine, and pioneering environmental-health advocate.

She is the co-author of two widely-praised reports,  In Harm’s Way: Toxic Threats to Child Development, published in 2000, and Environmental Threats to Healthy Aging, published in 2009.. The first of these has been translated into four languages and is used worldwide. The reports promote green local economies, sustainable agriculture, clean power, and freedom from toxic threats.”

Dr. Stein has taken a vow to do no harm. She has the creative genious, foresight and courage required to heal this nation. After 36 years of men (greater and lesser evils), the time has arrived when we can most benefit from the steady hand of a woman marshalling the resources to find victory in peace, equity, justice and freedom in our time. And it’s about time.

We spend trillions fighting avoidable wars chosen by advocates on one side or another of the corporate aisle. Most of the biggest players (like the 16 big guys who make billions and pay no taxes) are savvy enough to payoff both corporate parties to hedge their bets.

Our only option is to pay attention. Between 60 and 75% of the voting public say, at this point, they are ready and willing to seriously consider a third party. This is good and bad.  The bad part is Bernie Sanders will rope people into the lesser evil myth (with a blind eye to Israeli and corporate aggression.) The truths he tells about banks are useful, but when he folds up his tent and supports Hillary, we are left in the lurch with nothing but Clinton and a Bush.  But we have a bird in the hand!
